Active Learning in Practice: Mission Possible with Dr. Paul Hwang

March 27 @ 9:30 AM - 10:20 AM

Mission Possible with spy-looking veggies in the background

Research shows that actively engaging students improves learning outcomes, but implementing these strategies consistently can be challenging. That’s why Teaching + Learning is launching a new workshop series that brings active learning to life—helping faculty and staff integrate interactive teaching and training across the Vanguard community.

Mission : Possible – Nutrient Timing Strategies

Led by Dr. Paul Hwang, Associate Professor of Kinesiology

In this immersive session, participants will take on a challenge: design a one-day meal plan for an assigned target—on a strict budget. Along the way, you’ll explore nutrient timing, cost analysis, and strategic problem-solving while experiencing firsthand how active learning fosters engagement.

Whether you teach, train, or support students, this hands-on session will offer practical takeaways, collaborative learning, and a bit of fun (plus delicious nutritious and not-so-nutritious refreshments!).

Join us to see active learning (and Paul) in action!
