Join us in the library for the first Library Speaker Series event of the semester, featuring Dr. Rudy Estrada as he shares insights from his new book, Spirit and Race in the Gospel of John: Belonging and the People of God.
Dr. Estrada will speak on: The Holy Spirit’s Work Across Racial and Cultural Boundaries in the Gospel of John. This discussion explores how the Gospel of John uses the Holy Spirit to challenge and reshape ancient ideas about race. Dr. Estrada shows how themes like ancestry, violence, cross-cultural encounters, and belonging shape John’s message. He argues that the Spirit is not just a spiritual guide but a powerful force that breaks down ethnic barriers and creates a new, inclusive family of God.
This will be an event offering chapel credit for students, so feel free to spread the word and participate in learning with the Vanguard community.
