Dr. Corynne Keirnes
Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology
Dr. Corynne Keirnes is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology Program at Vanguard University. She has a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Colorado. She works with individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health challenges, relational distress, and narcissistic abuse. Her work is grounded in the integration of neuroscience, attachment theory, and family systems.
Dr. Keirnes is a Level II Certified Restoration Therapist, trained by Dr. Terry Hargrave. She aids clients in moving beyond reactive cycles by strengthening both mindfulness and self-agency. Her goal is to empower individuals and couples to make meaningful choices, restore emotional safety, and cultivate the relationships and life they truly desire.
Dr. Keirnes is passionate about integrating faith and psychology and is dedicated to training graduate students in building strong clinical foundations rooted in both. Her doctoral dissertation is a resource aimed at empowering parents and caregivers with tools routed in both interpersonal neuroscience and the life and ministry of Jesus. She provides speaking and consulting services on this topic to local churches and other non-profits.
She lives in Colorado with her husband, three children, and their Bernese Mountain dog, Gus. She loves the outdoors and enjoys taking her family on hikes.
