Dr. Lizette Solorzano
Assistant Professor of Sociology
Dr. Solórzano earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Sociology from the University of Southern California (USC). She is the author of research articles and reports centering Latina/o undocumented immigrant integration. Her research has been published in Ethnicities and Latino Studies journals. She is presently conducting research on DACA recipients’ incorporation experiences in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Overall, she is passionate about serving diverse immigrant communities through writing and research. Dr. Solórzano is also passionate about teaching and watching her students forge their paths through long-term mentorship.
Dr. Solórzano’s areas of specialization include sociology of immigration, race/ethnicity, Latina/o sociology, family, and theory.
