Dr. Paul Hwang
Assistant Professor of Kinesiology
Dr. Hwang is currently an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Vanguard University. He decided to join Vanguard University as a faculty member following his Ph.D. journey at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He is proud to be a Vanguard University faculty member as the mission and vision of the school that fully embraces the importance of the integration of the Christian faith through all dimensions of education lined with his teaching philosophy. He loves the opportunity to teach, empower, mentor, and develop authentic relationships with his students.
His research interests include examining how exercise and nutritional interventions impact human performance and body composition. Additional research interests include examining the optimization of recovery to concomitantly maximize performance and hypertrophic adaptations.
In his free time, Dr. Hwang loves to cook, try out a variety of restaurants/food places, explore God’s beautiful creation via nature hikes, sling some steel in the weight room, watch movies, have coffee chats, watch football (go Bears!), and praise/worship God whenever/wherever possible! His life verse is: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
