At Vanguard University since 1999, Lia's areas of expertise in the Department of Theatre Arts is in makeup and costume design. She is the faculty designer for the five show season, teaches the History of Theatre sequence, and mentors costume and makeup interns for American Coast Theatre. She helped prepare the “Elegant Art” exhibit at LACMA and was the costume designer for the inaugural season of The Old Town Opera House in San Diego. She is a member of the Costume Society of America, Costumer’s Guild West, and is the institutional representative to the National Association of Schools of Theatre. Lia has her M.F.A. from San Diego State University.
